Tutorial: Create A Custom Wordpress Page with Different Template
Recently I needed to create a page in Wordpress that didn’t have the sidebar on it. Took me a while to find the solution, but the one I found works like a charm. Takes a bit of programming knowledge, but not too bad.
Here is a quick video on how to go about doing it and a custom.php to get you started. Credit goes to Moses at wpthemesplugins.com for the solution. His link is below.
Download this custom.php file and unzip to your desktop to get started
I take no credit for this solution, just wanted make it a little easier by showing you in a video. Special thanks to Moses at WPthemesplugin.com for the solution.
Here is a page on my site using the solution

Thanks for the nice tutorial. I have a site that needs this to be done with this kind of thing, and I guess I didn’t realize just how easy it is to do. I forget that you can choose a template when you make the page. I’m definitely going to give this a try. I can see alot of uses for “custom.php” pages.

Nice idea for your site Jim. Curious about how much of that content is yours vs. reviews you found and posted.
Not that it really matters, just wondering how time intensive it it is to keep on top and collect all the reviews.
Great way to build affiliate income. Never thought of doing it

That is a great tutorial, BUT… At the end of the lesson you refer to the blank space that is still left on the page where the sidebar used to be. In your lesson you said you would go back and change the page width. Can you please tell me how to do this? I’ve followed all your instructions, but would like to fill the white space where the sidebar used to be with content from the page. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey Brandon,
Yup. I admit it and I’m sorry about that. Removing the space on the right is doable but a lot more complicated and will require a whole video on how to do it. Just been slacking on putting it together.
I’ll try to hop on that as soon as I am done with the new article series.
Thanks for keeping me honest
