To the benign hackers of the Texas road sign: Bravo! That was awesome!

Over the years, I’ve been hacked a few times… and it always sucks.  Every company I was in at the time thought they were ready, and they weren’t.  So when I saw this story on CNN yesterday, I rejoiced.

Video from Austin News KXAN below…

Not only is it hilarious, but it also did a few other things:

1. Provided a challenge to the hackers
the reason why they were doing it
2. Flicked the noses of authority
      another reason to do it
3. Proved to the hackers themselves that they were good enough to do it
confidence building which is probably why they became hackers to start with
4. Most people thought it was funny as hell
more confidence and might lead them to do other benign hacks instead of something malicious

But Most importantly

5. It didn’t really hurt anyone. It actually entertained people.
6. It was easily changed back.

To the rest of the malicious hackers out there:  You suck balls. Get used to being alone.

The folks that pulled this off may not be as L33t as you.  They may not have siphoned millions of dollars….BUT they have something you will never have – the admiration and respect of others.

You suck, and no matter how many sites you break into, you will still suck because it takes hurting others to make you feel good about your self. Hope you get hit by a bus of schoolchildren and nuns.

Love

JJ
