My Salutation of the Generic Holiday Variety to You!

Well the season is upon us. I just wanted to drop a quick post to let you know that you probably won’t see any updates for a few weeks. I’m heading off to the great white north (Massachusetts) to visit friends and family back home for Christmas.

I’ll keep myself busy though… just in case you actually gave a crap. I’m toying with 2 big projects.

Option 1: I’ve been noodling the idea of a series of articles about how to stand out in a crowd. My particular take is that I am going to break it down in terms of the product life-cycle (Start up, growth, maturity, decline). We’d start of looking at each step in the cycle and get an understanding of the different classes that your product may fall into using the BCG model (star, cash cow, problem child, dog). Then we could look at different ways you can stand above the rest depending on where you and your industry are in the curves. Pretty heady, but it will be a good exercise.

Option 2: I’ve also been doing some marketplace polling to see if there is any interest in a site that reviews and rates various “guru” programs and gives visitors an insider look into what really goes on in these “businesses” and I use that term loosely, on a day to day basis. From what I have seen so far, there seems to be a lot of genuine interest. We’ll see, I might try to get something like that going over the holidays.

So that’s it. I’ll probably end up doing both eventualy, but you will most likely see one or the other by New Years.
